Marta Torres Quintanilla was born, raised and lived most of her life in the very small and very conservative country of El Salvador. With a bachelor’s in Interior Architecture and an M.A. in New Media, she works in furniture, art direction and social design she moves around mediums to express her style, voice and what she believes in.
In 2016 she funds Martania bags now a brand that ships world wide where she keeps being the creative director for. In this brand she gives new ways of seeing how bags are made, pushing the shapes and materiality in still usable products, this is also seen in her furniture design work.
She’s been active in the El Salvador's social issues scene including the lack of LGBTQ+ rights, feminicidios, censorship that is very present in her work related to art and moved to Berlin to further expand artist work including recently making works in New Media. Currently in Berlin, Germany open to collaborations in person and collaborates with freelance work in other places of the world.
